How do I SAVE AS a message as an RTF file?

I recently upgraded from Office Pro 97 to Office Pro 2003. I used to save
emails into dtat folders using SAVE AS. They always saved as RTF files.
When I do the same now, they default to .HTM files, or I can select from
other file types- TXT, etc. How can I make RTF the default SAVE AS file type?
