How do I save a Word document as a new Powerpoint presentation?

How do I save a Word document as a new Powerpoint presentation. The results I
am getting at the moment creates a new slide for every word in the Word
document

You need to format the word doc before you "send to powerpoint"

Title of slide 1 --Format as Heading1
Text1 |
Text2 | --Format all these as Heading 2
Text3 |
Title of slide 2 --Heading 1
Text 1/ -- Heading2 etc
