how do I rotate a picture

I inserted a picture in an email I want to send but it is sideways. I need
to know how to rotate it?
 
rotate it before you insert it...use an image editor to rotate and save.
 
Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (part of Windows XP) can rotate images.
