Hello: When I purchased my PC, it came with Office 2003, and one of the
choices being Word 2003. There used to be a "Microsoft Word 2003" and a "W"
(Word - blue W over white) icon on my taskbar near the "Start" button which I
had created. The shortcut icon was inadvertently deleted and I can no longer
find "Microsoft Word 2003" when I click on "Start", "All Programs",
"Microsoft Office".

Can someone please assist me in how I can retrieve it so that it can show
when I click on "Start"?

Thanking you in advance for the assistance.

I'm now on Vista so I have to do this by memory, which can be rather
moth-eaten at times.

Go into Windows Explorer - Program files - Microsoft Office - Office 11.
Find Winword.exe. Right click on it. Create shortcut. Drag the *new
shortcut* (not the exe file) to the Start button.

Try that and see how close I got.

Hi JoAnn:

First, thank you for taking the time and guiding me through this. I just
got home from a very long day. I will follow your suggestion exactly as you
outlined and will let you know if that worked or not. I am still running
Windows XP Professional Media Edition and will probably keep this operating
system until things calm down with Vista.

In the mean time, I am grateful for your assistance.

Hello JoAnn:

I had the opportunity to follow the instructions you provide. IT WORKED!!!
Considering you are now on Vista, I appreciate your sharp memory on XP to get
my Word and icon back. Really appreciate it! Thank you!
