How do I restore Outlook after detect and repair?

I unfortunately performed a "Detect & Repair" and did not keep my original
Outlook settings. I was unaware "Detect & Repair" started a new Outlook
personal file. I need to restore my OLD Outlook Contacts as well as all my
old e-mails. How is this done?
Can someone guide me with a step by step recovery? Windows XP Home Edition.

The Outlook version is in play here, not your operating system.
Just set Outlook to use your previous Outlook Data File instead of the new
one. It is still on your hard drive with a PST extension.
