How do I reset Outlook from a newsgroup overload?

A couple days ago I accessed a USEnet newsgroup that contained avoer 170,00
active posts in it. Rather than trying to sort through all of the messages I
selected "Catch Up". Now, whenever I try to open Outlook Express to check my
newsgroups, it stops and thinks rather than doing. I've been letting it think
for more than 2 solid days now guessing that it was trying to process the
command, and it still won't open or show my groups.

So, how do I "reset" OE and start over from scratch? At this point, starting
over is preferable to waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting....

tools, options, maintenance and/or find and delete the dbx for that
newsgroup.
