How do I replace my existing web with a new one

I'm using FP 2000 and have a web site using the free web space provided by my
ISP. I have changed the theme and the look of the site and now want to
replace the old one with the new one because I want to keep the name of the
site the same. Do I have to delete the old one first and then publish the
new one ? I'm a beginner to web building and just have a web site for the
club I belong to.
Thanks

You don't have to delete the old one first, you can copy over it. FrontPage
"should" (stress the should) identify any files that are in the hosted site
that are no longer used and offer to delete them. Sometimes FP gets fussy
when you delete a web and then want to publish to it again. I've had a few
instances where the server had a hiccup in the configuration that gave this
sort of problem so just over-writing the old one may work out better for
you.

Does your account have the FP extensions?

My account doesn't have FP extensions as my ISP (Tiscali) doesn't support
them. Does it make a difference then if it had got them ?

Yes it makes a different in how you replace the old site with the new one when you do not have the
extensions.

Open the live/remote site via a FTP application and then delete everything, then open your local
copy of the new site in FP and then publish via FP's FTP mode by entering the destination as in
ftp://ftp.yourdomainname.com or whatever URL your web host has provided.
