How do I "repair" Windows XP-pro ?

Hi
After installing and uninstalling "Norton Internet Security" something went wrong
:-((
Most of the programs works OK but something is strange. "System Recovery" (the roll
back program) do not work any more and other programs gives an error-message:
"run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object".
Now how do I make WindowsXP-pro good again ?? (it is updater with all the newest fix
an' updates)
