How do I repair my C: boot record?

My Vista Home Premium will not boot if I shut it down. Can I repair it
somehow before I do a restart? TIA Paul
 
Thanks, dinesh. My Acer did not come with any CD. I do have another Acer
laptop also running Vista, so maybe I can create the CD I will need?
