How do I REMOVE Start up items??

J

Jeff

Can someone help me in removing some of the items my
computer uses during Start-Up??

1. I've tried msconfig, start up, un check the boxes, BUT
the items come right back up when I restart the computer.

2. I've tried going into the properties of the individual
programs, but cannot seem to find the right combination.

My computer takes TOO LONG to restart because all of the
B.S. that has to be Started-Up first.

What the heck do I need RealPlayer or Messanger for
example to start on a restart, if I use these programs
very seldomly??

Thanks for ANY suggestions,

Jeff

hi,

There are different ways of removing the items from start
up and it depends on the applications.

Some applications have configuration tools in the options
where you specify whether you want this application to
start up whenever windows starts up for eg msn messenger.

Some applications have to be removed from the Start menu
by navigating to the start sub menu in the Start menu
and then right clicking on the item which u want to
remove and select delete from the pop up window that
appears.
