Can anyone please advise me how to remove a network connection from my PC
which uses XP Professional?
I seem to have ended up with two workgroups!!! I would like to restore the
PC back to its original state i.e. before it was networked.
Any help would be appreciated

Do you want to remove a LAN connection that appears in the Network
Connections folder? The only way to do that is to go to Device
Manager and un-install the physical network adapter that the
connection uses. When XP re-installs the network adapter, it will
create a new network connection.

But I don't think that you need to do that or anything else.

A computer can only be a member of one workgroup, and determined by
the name that you specify in the Computer Name tab of the System
Properties. A Windows network can have any number of workgroups, and
a computer in any workgroup can access a computer in any other
workgroup.

If no computers belong to a workgroup, that workgroup will
automatically disappear after a while.

I tried deinstalling the cards on both PCs but obviously Windows "found"
them again and reinstalled them during boot up.

I seem to have ended up with 3 LAN connections and even two workgroup names.
It's further complicated by the fact that I have just got a satellite
broadband set up on the master PC and need to network that too. When I try,
that gets messed up:-(

Sorry to bother you again but is it possible to make both machines literally
"forget" they were ever networked so I can start again as I know I can
network two PCs running Windows XP using the wizard. I don't mind if this
means editing the registry or whatever??
Thanks in anticipation
