Depending on how the files got onto the floppy, it's likely that they were
corrupted. For example, if someone put the files onto the floppy by saving
directly to the floppy from Word, then corruption is nearly certain.
She should try again, if so, this time saving files to her hard drive, and
closing them, then using Windows Explorer to copy them to floppy, and again
to copy from floppy to HD, and then editing the HD copies from Word.
