How do i re-install Wordpad?

Wordpad is not a Microsoft product. You can find it on the web. The
Microsoft (less powerful) equivalent on your system is called Notepad,
and it's already there, in Start | Programs | Accessories. You don't
need the W2k CD to get to it. At least, you shouldn't...

Hi Joe,

By default WordPad does not appear in the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control
Panel. However by modifying the sysoc.inf file as explained in the following
Microsoft Knowledge Base Article you can cause it to be displayed.

KB223182 - Adding Optional Components to Add/Remove Programs Tool
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=223182

Specifically, you will need to remove HIDE from the "AccessUtil=" and the
"MSWordPad=" line.

Then, open Control Panel. Open Add/Remove Programs. Click the button: Add/Remove
Windows Components. Select the Component: Accessories and Utilities and click the
Details... button. Select Accessories and click the Details... button. Check to
select the "WordPad" entry, and install the program. You will be prompted if
installation media is needed.

My heartfelt apologies for the totally erroneous answer I posted. I
guess I'm a dinosaur. Never realized until I just saw Carrie's post and
checked my system that Wordpad is included with W2k. Gee, learning how
ignorant you are is fun.
