How do I print out a report in columar and tabular format?

I'm doing a traineeship and for my certificate i need to complete Microsoft
access as a subject but my text book is not very informative, one of the
questions request that I print out one of the reports I have created in
columnar and tabular format. the help option does not tell me what these
actually are and neither does my text book. How do i do this?
