Whenever I try to send a message with an attachment a bit large (not too
much, just a few 100KB) Outlook resends it several times.

Anyone has a solution for this?

Thanks,

Dan

1) If you scan outgoing mail with an antivirus scanner, disable that
feature. It's pointless anyway.
2) Increase the server timeout value. Exactly how is version-dependent and
you've kept your Outlook version a secret. It will be on the Advanced tab
of your account properties pages.
3) Lengthen the Send/Recive interval for the Send/Receive group. Again,
exact instructions require knowing your Outlook version, which you should
always include when posting.

Hi Brian.

Thanks! I will check your suggestions. On a couple of tests it seems to work
OK.

BTW I am using Outlook 2003...

Hi again Brian;

I changed the server timeout from 1 min to 3, and then to 5, but I still
have the same problem.

I also cancelled the antivirus check for outgoing emails (I am using
Pc-cillin BTW) and the send/receive interval from 5 to 10 min.

Any other suggestions to solve the issue?

Thanks,

Dan

Were this happening to me, I'd uninstall the AV program entirely, see if
that helped and, if so, reinstall it without the mail scanning feature. If
it didn't help, I'd start with a new mail profile.
