How do I point to another cell

=SUM(Roster!E10) is what I have in the cell. It is in the whole row. Most
of the members numbers come thru okay but some of them all I get is a 0.
When I go to the roster sheet I see a triangle in the corner. From there I
got a format is text and a number is enterred. I made sure the format was
the same for all cells on roster. The triangle went away but on sheet 2 i
still have a 0. Any ideas?

Hi!

Just changing the format will not convert text numbers to numeric numbers.

Try this:

Select an empty cell.
Goto Edit>Copy
Selec the range of "numbers".
Goto Edit>Paste Special>Add>OK

Hi Biff, Thank you

Although this did allow me to copy "mirror" a cell on one sheet to another,
I still get the triangle that says i have an error. Both the good and the
bad cells are formated to text and only have numbers in them. I don't
understand why they are different. I tried formating them to numbers with 0
decimals but it is still the same.

Hi!

Copying also copies the source cells' formats (unless you specifically do a
copy/paste special).

Thanks again but it still doesn't get rid of the original problem. In the
original location there is a little triangle in the corner. When I click on
the triangle I get a message saying the cell format is set to text.

I'll take a look at the file if you want to/can send me a copy.

Just let me know how to contact you.
