I can't format a picture in 2007 like in 2003. I used to choose "tight" and
i could move the picture anywhere in the document. When i choose "tight" now
it moves the picture and it won't let me place it where i want in the
document. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If the wrap is set to anything other than in-line with text, a picture can
be dragged around the page as before?

I've seen an occasional glitch in Word 2007 wherein you cannot drag a
picture precisely where you want. Often, for example, you drag in one
direction, then release the mouse, and the picture scoots in precisely the
opposite direction by an indeterminate and uncontrollable amount. This
happens with any/all of the draggable "Text Wrapping" options.

The only solution I've seen in such instances is to rename the Data key.
This restores the ability to drag properly (until the glitch happens again,
that is).

I would try renaming or deleting the Data key in the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data

*Standard disclaimer: editing the registry can cause problems if you mess
up, and can destabilize the rotation of the planet. Proceed at your own
risk.*

It doesn't matter what text wrap I choose. I have tried all of them. I move
it to the right, it moves to the left. When I try to move one picture, the
remaining pictures in the document move all over. It is so strange.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data - the "data" is a
folder that contains 4 files: Default, Settings, SettingsWordMail, and
Toolbars. Do I rename this folder or a file in the folder? Thank you for
your help.

They aren't actually files/folders. They are storage locations in the system
registry. But, to answer your question, the culprit probably is stored in
Settings (if the problem is a defective registry entry), but most usually,
we suggest that you rename Data, which covers everything within that part of
the tree -- including the four variables you indicate. Sometimes, the whole
branch is corrupted, and you need to rename Data itself to fix the problem.

You can try renaming just Settings as Settings.old (or somesuch) to see if
that fixes it. Note: these registry changes should be done with Word closed.
