Hi there,

Wonder could you help me please with opening a works database (wdb) file in
Access 2007. The file was sent to me in wdb format and I can't get it to open
with any office app - surely there is bound to be some way to open or convert
it, as the sender isn't contactable at the minute for me to ask him to resave
it for me to access format.

Thanks in anticipation,

Tony

Bud21,

I believe you're going to need some sort of converter program, there are a
few of them out there. In the future you could ask the Sendee to Save As
..csv or .txt file or something other then .wdb since you don't have Works.

Hi Gina,

Thanks for that, although I had downloaded a few before posting and none of
them worked. Does anyone know which free converter will do the conversion
from wdb to access 2007? Also cheekly if you had a URL for the download that
would be great also!!!

Thanks,

Tony

Bud21,

I would not try to convert it to Access 2007. I would convert it to a text
file or a CSV file or even a dbf file THEN convert to Access 2007. I am not
sure there is a converter free or otherwise that will convert directly to
Access 2007. Also, I have not seen a free converter that will work.
