That should be the way Outlook behaves in any event (i.e., downloading only
new messages). What mail server are you using? Have you tried a new
Outlook mail profile? WHat version of Outlook?

A paid Yahoo account, I presume, or you wouldn't be using POP. Sounds like
it's time to try a new mail profile.

Yes it is a paid account for small businesses. When you say I should use a
new mail profile, what do you mean? do you mean the set up of the mail
account on Outlook. i have used the settings told to me by Yahoo.

I set up a new profile on Outlook and the same thing happens. Yahoo will not
give me any support as they are saying it must be an Outlook issue. Do you
think it would be beneficial to reload outlook?

Naturally, since the record of what has and has not been downloaded is reset
with a new mail profile. However, it should only happen once. After that,
Outlook should no longer pull down messages it already has.

OK, then, why not connect to your mail account with Yahoo's web interface
and move the contents of your Inbox to some other folder on the server? If
it's not in the server Inbox, Outloko can't see it and will not try to
download it.
