how do I network windows xp with windows 2000??

I created a network for my small office so that I can share the printer on my
desktop with my laptop. The problem is that my desktop runs windows xp and
the laptop runs windows 2000. When setting up the network it created a disk
for me to run on other computers, but the disk will not run on windows 2000.
How can I make this work??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 2000 comes with network setup so it should be configurable to work with
Windows XP, and any necessary changes you can make by hand.

Please provide "ipconfig /all" from each computer, as a start. Read this
article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely:

Hi
You can set each computer manfully (no need to create or and run disk) ,
regardless of the Windows OS once it configured correctly they would talk
one to the other.
Log to this page it has a lot of links to instructions to Windows Network
Settings, and Sharing.
