How do I move a whole block of text?

How do I highlight and move a whole block of text
to the right or left?

Is it not working because I've got the auto indent
and other stuff on? I guess it makes no sense to
move a block if it would just go back anyway?

am I stupid?

comments?
 
Hi,

You can try selecting the text with shift arrow down, and then try tabbing,
but I suspect that autoindent will shape it as it wishes.
