How do I make the file details view my default view with Open fi.

I just followed a long thread on this issue in Powerpoint 2003. Interesting
that at some point the thread diverted from the original issue and did not
yield any solution!

Upon Open File, the view always reverts to Preview mode. This is very
annoying. I have loads of presentations and I use primarily the date modified
sort to find the one I need. So I would like to find a way to make the
Details view my default, likewise in Excel and Word.

Probably because there is none, only workarounds.

One that may not have been mentioned, though: Don't use PPT's file open dialog.
Instead, leave PPT open, switch to Windows Explorer and doubleclick the PPT file
you want there. Or drag it onto the title bar of the PPT window.

Is there a way to inform Microsoft about this stupidity?

Visit www.pptfaq.com

At the top of the main page, you'll find a link to a page on Microsoft's site where
you can explain why you don't like this ... ahem ... "feature", how it interferrees
with your ability to use PPT, what it costs you in terms of time and money and wwhat
you'd like them to do instead.
