How do I make subcategories for gift entry e.g. method- check no

I am creating a gift entry file which will be in relationship with a database
file. I wish to make sub categories under METHOD of donation e.g. Method (of
doonation)
check; cash; appeals; fund raiser. Thank you for any information on this.
 
Build a lookup table like --
Method Sub
Cash Coins
Cash Bills
Cash Tokens
Check Cashiers
Check Personnel
Check Bankdraft
