How do I make my "new messages" window larger in outlook XP ?

When I go to write an e-mail how would I make that window larger? It is
extremly small and hard to read on my laptop. I have Wondows XP version of
Outlook.

What happens when you start to compose a new e-mail (in the compose
window that appears), resize that window, use File -> Close to close
the window, and then compose a new e-mail to reopen that window?

I do this and its still really small the font says its point 12 but it looks
like 7 even though I re-size the window. Any ideas????

Using Word as the mail editor? What's the zoom selection?
