How do I make it so my email newsletter cannot be edited by others

I am sending out an email newsletter using Word. I want to make sure the
newsletter cannot be edited by others once they recieve the email. Is there
a way to 'freeze' the document so changes cannot be made?
 
As Suzanne indicates PDF will deter casual editing, but ultimately any
document that you allow someone to view can be copied and edited.
