How do I make folders stay how I want them?

I put the folder how I want it. Views/details then name-type-size and that's it. But when I come back to it later, could be any
time, it changes back to having ALL the details. Track number, artist, album all that shit. Is there a way to lock it when you have
it set out how you want?

See if resetting the folder layout cache will help here:
Delete the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU, both with
all the subentries, then create new keys "BagMRU" and "Bags" here. At
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam create a new
DWORD entry
BagMRU Size
and set this to
5000 (decimal)
Restart the computer.

I've had same question & think I got an answer but I
need to test it. Easier to see if 1 of many bright
users here know. If u get no answer in ~3 days, I'll
run an experiment.

No help but a glimmer of hope. Larry

Any advice given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS. Personal attacks, nitpicking & criticism
of anything but content will NOT be responded to. Those
posters should spend their time taking the test @

Good example of this is I have a shortcut(in folder set
to Items view) to Recycle that opens it in detail with
different column headings than when I just open it from
desktop. I thought it might make a difference that I
open folders in SAME window but this shows that's not
the case.
