When I open a new Word document it automatically uses US
English spelling.

When I email using Outlook the same.

Each time I have to convert to UK English.

How do I make UK English my default language for all
functions?

Thanks

Open word and then click the Tools option on the main toobar. From the drop
down menu select Language. Another drop down menu appears. Click Set
Language. When the set language box opens click English UK in the language
box and then click the Default button. Click OK. A message will appear
asking you to confirm that you want to change the defaulty language of
Normal.dot template. Click ok and then exit word. When you reopen word the
language should be set as english uk

Hi,
In Word - go to Tools, Language, Set Language.
In Outlook - go to Tools,Options, Spelling, Language.

Sue

Go to Start, then Control Panel, open Regional & Language
options. Under tab Regional options, select English
(United Kingdom), under Advanced tab, select English
(United Kingdom).

Hope this helps.

We´ve recently moved to the Canary Islands and my laptop had
breakdown in transit. We´ve bought a desktop off a very nice man her
who kindly put XP on in Spanish (he doesn't speak English). My Spanis
ain't that good and it's taking hours for me and my little Collins Ge
dictionary to work out what's what. I've tried regional settings an
it hasn't changed anything. So, applications I've loaded are mostly i
English, my keyboard is Spanish, and all the front end (if that's th
right term) is in Spanish. It took me a week to work out tha
"ejecutar", which i thought was eject, meant execute..

Wendi;
Yours is not a Regional settings issue.
You need to buy Windows XP in the language you want.
You can not change the language of Windows XP.
