How Do I Make CD Drive do 'Autoplay'?

Well if that is what he wants to achieve, then he needs to follow the
instructions given in many replies already. Your first sentence summs up the
problem... "a working VCD". He just needs to turn on autoplay on his PC, as
per instructions in other replies.

Even if he is trying to get video file(s) onto a virtual CD setup as a drive
letter in his PC and simply autoplay it using Windows Media player (as I
interpretted the problem), then using the Autorun.inf file is the way to go,
followed by mounting or (software) inserting the CD, but even that won't
make anything run if he has disabled his autoplay feature.

S/he is dying to get information how to turn his working VCD into
auto-play on his computer... and all you need to do is giving him/her the
detailed instruction.

- Exact what s/he needs

- Exactly what in the autorun.inf

- Exactly where to put all the requirements

.. that's what s/he wants .. even I have mentioned many times before that
it's unnecessary, and the chance to get it to work on his and other people
computer is very slim. The problem that I don't have much experience with
..INF to give, and one with experience won't give him/her. And s/he said
s/he has tried but doesn't want to spell out exactly what s/he tried.

See the other thread on this, but basically if you are creating a VCD, then
there is no autorun.inf. If you are create a data CD containing video files,
then you might want an autorun..inf file - see other post for details...
