How do I make access stop asking me for a password?

A while back, I created a database and wanted to protect it. (just that one
database). But for some reason, I can't exactly remember what I did, but the
problem is that now Access is asking me for a user name and password for
every database I open; even if I want to create a new database. In other
words, I'm unable to use Access without having to log in to something (not
sure what I'm logging in to).

Anyone have any idea what I did, and how to undo it?

You need to do either one or both of these:

Restore a new pristine copy of the "system.mdw" workgroup file. If you've
modified it then renaming it will cause a new one to be generated when
Access starts up.

Rejoin the default "system.mdw" workgroup file using the Workgroup
Administrator under Tools, Security.

Where should this file be located?
I've ran a search on the whole drive, and it returns nothing...

I did notice that in the same directory as the database there is a .snp file
with the same name as the database. There is also a Security.ldb and a
<name_of_database>.ldb

There is also a Security.mdw in the same directory... but no system.mdw
anywhere

That's odd. If Access can't find system.mdw then it should recreate it at
startup. Have you started Access from your Start menu rather than a
shortcut since you applied security?

Yes I did.

I followed the instructions anyway, turns out I had created and joined a
workgroup (dont know how I did this). So I clicked the Join... button and
since I didn't find system.mdw, I just cleared the path field, and it's now
showing just ".mdw" in that field.

I dont know if that's good or bad, but the problem is gone... I am no longer
asked for the password.

Thanks for the help

Let me know if this is still a bad thing.
