How do I make a received PDF file readable?

I received a PDF file. When I open it I just see a whole lot of numbers and
codes. I cannot read the message. Is there anything I can do in order to make
it readable to me?

PDF files must be opened in Adobe Reader. They cannot be read in Word.

Microsoft Word cannot open .pdf files. Most computers nowadays
come with some version of Adobe Reader installed on them, and
that would be the program you should use to open .pdf files. If
your computer does not have Adobe Reader, then you can download
it free from http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-READER .
