How do I make a large poster on multiple pages in word

I know there is a way to do this, but I cannot figure it out. Every time I
look at the print preview, it only shows a small portion of my poster without
any other pages. How do I create a poster in word that is 28"x22" and will
print on several sheets of paper for me to assemble?

It _cannot_ be done in Word. It can be done in Publisher, or Excel, or a number
of other programs, but Word has an absolute maximum page size of 22"x22" and has
no facility for splitting things across page boundaries.

Some printers, however, have the option of enlarging a page and printing it
over several sheets.

Word doesn't have that option. The maximum size is something like 20" x 22".
(Publisher allows you to do that tho, as does Excel.) You may have the
capability of printing that way though - some printers have that feature in
their settings.
