Steve Richter

on what had been this windows xp system I had been logging in as
administrator. Now when I boot Vista I dont even login and my user
name is my name, not administrator.

assuming and hoping everying like my email which appears trashed on
this PC is that way because I am logged in as a different user than I
had been .... how do I login as adminstrator?

when I go to start ... switch user I only see my user account. Where
is the administrator account?

thanks,

Hello,

- Click start
- Type: cmd
- Right-click cmd and click Run As Administrator
- Type: net user administrator /active:yes
- Press enter

You should now be able to log in as the administrator.

Can you be specific about the steps you are using to do this install?

If the installer disk has a 'start' program or something similar then
you *still* need to right click on that program and choose 'run as
administrator'. Yes, even if you are logged in as administrator!
It's a security feature -- in MHO it's a good one, even though it
adds an extra step.
