How do i load search filters

I try to do a search to find a file to open and I get the following message
in Word 2000 Professional.

Filters required to perform this search could not be installed.

I can not find this filter or option on the install disk? Any suggestions?

Through another site I found out that if I update to SR-1 and then the next
service packs that the problem would go away. I did this and my problem was
solved.
