How Do I Installl the Recovery Console on XPe?

I'm developing XPe drivers that load during the boot process. Of course they
always work the first time, but sometimes they crash & I have to reflash the
image. I tried installing the recovery console (winnt32 /cmdcons) to prevent
having to reflash the image, but the install process said it couldn't find a
partition on my hard disk. The official documentation indicates it is
possible to install the console on XPe, but doesn't say how. Any thoughts?

kbutz,

Unlikely The Recovery Console is supported with XPe (but I haven't checked it with SP2).
Some things, however, you will be able to do with SP2 (only) "Safe Mode Support".

Although it is unclear what you want to do from Recovery console that you cannot do with XPe offline?
Registry access to disable particular drivers? Easy accomplished if you just load the XPe image system hive offline.
New file copy, existing file delete, etc. - easy to do offline.
What else?

on it, ti install the recovery c?onsole
