How do I Install Windows xp?

I have just installed a new hard drive (120gb) which has been formatted and
partitioned and the partition is showm as healthy and active.
How do I install windows?
I have tried loading the CD into the drive and starting the computer and my
machine responds with 'checking hardware configuration' then changes to
'windows setup' then it just hangs.
Any help would be appreciated

I would suspect that the jumpers on the Hard Drive are not setup properly.

The old hard drive had been diconnected and the new drive its set as 'Master'
