How do I insert blinking or flashing numbers or text in Excel?

I would like to insert blinking or flashing numbers and text in cells in
Excel. How is it done?

It can be done using VBA code, but are you sure you want to have
blinking/flashing cells or text.

Slows down Excel, can't do much else while code is running and would annoy the
heck out of me.

I can't think of anything that would annoy me more within a spreadsheet, and
it would probably come across as very tacky.
