How do I include text exceeding 250 characters on Access.

I need to link part of my access database to chunks of text that are quite
long, as access only lets me have 250 character length i am unsure how to
proceed. I have tried to import the text in Excel, but Access keeps cropping
it down to 250. Any ideas?
 
Have you tried changing the data type in the table definition to "Memo"
instead of "text"?
