My company is transitioning me from an older installation of Outlook (Office
97 vintage) to a newer version (Office 2000 vintage). I was able to transfer
my personal old address book to the new Outlook. Is there any way to
transfer my old calendar appointements as well? Thanks.

Just open the mailbox or old pst in Outlook.

However, since you are upgrading and Outlook supports a new pst format, I
recommend using File, Import or open the pst using File, Open, Outlook Data
file, and dragging items to the new pst.
