How do I hide a recurring appointment on my monthly calendar?

I just want the reminder to pop up, but not show on my calender. It is a
weekday recurring task and I do not want it to show on my calendar.
 
You can try creating a filter that would obscure that appointment
 
I can only find filtering info for messages, not calendar items. Can you
help me?

You can filter any view you want. Go into the view you want to filter, right
click inside the view and choose "Customize Current View" then click Filter.
