select text_column, sum(amount) as amt
from table
group by text_column

Hi there.. I am wanting to group by a text column that will contain more than
entry.. other fields will be different. and then my table contains an amount
field.. I am needing to sum the amount field that has the same text in
another column.... thank you and your help is greatly appreciated..
