How do I get ..... without using the . key and can write over it?

II'm very sorry I can't be more accurate in my describing but I’m trying to
figure out how to get dotty underling - without underlining the word as well.
I want the space between the words e.g.: Chapter 2 ...............pg74 - but
without hitting full stop 20 times. With this you can also write over it. It
Automatically adjusts to the test on the line.
I really hope someone understands what I’m meaning and can help me!
