How do I get windows messenger to "getlost"

The icon keeps appearing in sys tray even when I tick it off
Where does this reside in registry so I can stop it loading
I dont wan to sign in at all.

I guess you have tried this also: If you want to get rid
of Messenger, go into control panel, add/remove programs
and remove it there.

Also, I just saw that there is a Messenger Newsgroup in
the XP section.
