How do I get the marked up view to shut off permanently?

Hi guys: I started a new job and all the darn word documents are password
protected and open up in the marked up view. I would like to shut both off
permanently for a whole folder or at least a pile of files.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hazel
 
Hi Hazel

In word go to tools and if the document says "unprotect document" you need
to know the password to remove the protection. In any case you can just
change your view to Final instead of final showing markup to view the final
version only without changes. If it isn't protected you can accept all
changes with your reviewing toolbar to incorporate everything to a final
document.
