How do I get the diacritical mark over the e(s) in resume?

I am using Word 2003. I have searched diacritical marks, but shift and right
arrow key are not doing it for me. Inserted symbols do not go directly above
the e. Any help out there. Thank you.
 
Type Ctrl+' and then e to get é, (or get around the problem entirely use
'curriculm vitae' instead).
