How can I get every trace of SQL Server 2005 off my system. I want to
do a clean install, but for many reason that I have been unable to
rectify I can't seem to do it as long as XP thinks there is an existing
version on it. There is not! I have removed it every way I know how.
Whatever would not install I pulled out of the directory. Yet, my
managment console gives erros when I start it saying "The configuration
snap in failed to initialize". Also the following services are in the
the list of avaialbe services: SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS),SQL Server
Active Directory Helper,SQL Server Browser,SQL Server VSS
Writer,SQLAgent$ACT7. I want them gone! How can I get rid of every
trace of SQL server so I can do a clean install. Help me Obie one, you
are the only one that can help us!

thanks

Try and reinstall it first - then use it's own uninstaller

The install always fails, it says it can't find the installer file or
that there is a previous instance of SQL installed. There is no
previous instance, there was, but there no longer is. If I could
reinstall it would not be a problem. thanks though
