I use PC-Cillin Micro version 11 and have been notified
that I have spyware TROJ AGENT.AE in system32
\mclcddp.exe I think this is an application file...
the file was unable to be qaurantined......can I safely
delete this file ? and if so how?

Judy Rickard

mclcddp.exe is not an XP file. Search on the web brings up nothing.
Very likely mclcddp.exe is the trojan.

[[This Trojan is capable of registering itself as a valid Browser Helper
Object (BHO) that acts as a browser assistant. Hence, it can monitor online
user activities.]]

Judy,

Have you tried removing it using a Ad-Ware removal
program like AdAware or SpyBot. These tools are geared
more toward dealing with these types of issuses. Below
is a link to some Ad-Ware removal tools, download one and
run it, if you have AdWare it will know about it and
should remove it safely.

Hope this helps

JUDY YOU SHOULD TRY USING AD-AWARE OR SPYBOT. I HAVE
USED THEM BOTH WITH VERY GOOD RESULTS ON TROGAN VIRUSES.
THE GOOD THING IS THAT BOTH PROGRAMMES ARE AVAILABLE
FREE. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS FINDING THEM LET ME KNOW.
(e-mail address removed)

Thanks everyone for help...I have installed Spybot and
think everything is now cleared........
