How do I get rid of these

[Just Me]

These damn info squares get in the way of everything I try to read and it
bugs the hell out of me. Can they be disabled??

Open Folder Options...
Start | Run | Type: control folders | Click OK |
View tab | Unselect: Show popup description for folder and desktop items |
Click Apply | Click OK

Show popup description for folder and desktop items
[[Specifies that a description of a selected folder or desktop item is
displayed in a pop-up window. When you select this check box, the pop-up
description appears even if Web content is not enabled on your desktop or in
folders.]]
