How do I get rid of marks in corners that show where margins are?

In Word, markings have appeared in the corners of my page in Print view that
look like L's on the Right and reversed L's on the left. I don't know where
they came from, hence I don't know how to get rid of them...please help as
they're driving me crazy!!
