How do I get pictures to delete on the server side?

I have had FrontPage 2003 since June of this year. At first when I would
publish, boxes would come up asking if I wished to delete files or jpgs that
were no longer on my side. In August my ISP had several servers to crash,
including the one with Front Page websites. In putting things back together,
they made a copy of my website. They assured me nothing would be lost. OK -
everything is back together. Now I have discovered that when I remove a jpg
on my side, it does not delete on the server side. The boxes that would pop
up asking if I wanted a file to delete no longer come up. I have to manually
go into the server side, & delete files. The ISP says nothing is different
& they haven't made any changes. But, I know this is not right. Can anyone
give me suggestions as to whether this problem could be in my side of the
website or in the server side of the website? Thanks... Claire

You would need to open the live/remote site and publish it back to your machine before making any
change or deletions, then when you re-publish you should get the prompt about deleting. The problem
is that you copy and the copy on the server are not in-sync since the host did whatever they did.

Hi Clarie,

If you're coping files or FTPing them then the meta dictionaies do not contain those files that have been FTPed / Copied. To get the
information into the meta base open the web on the server using FP then do a Tools | Recalc Hyperlinks. After that when you publish
from your PC the server it will compare the meta bases and ask if you wish to delete unused items / objects.
