how do i get paragraph symbol not to show up?

How in the world do i get that silly paragraph symbol off of my word
documents? it does it everytime that I write a letter or a note. tried
everything, and don't know what to do. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME.......
PLEASE!!!!!!!!! AAAGHHHHH
 
Tools>Options>View>Formatting Marks. Uncheck the ambiquous entry labeled
"Paragraph marks"
